Beauce Pottery/Ceramique de Beauce (Canada)

Post by Rob_C on Thu Apr 17, 2008 5:27 am

A set of 4 handled soup bowls by Jean Cartier, probably from the early 70's, though I have yet to find a source to confirm that. All the low numbered pieces I have found date from the late 60's to about 1970.

Number C-51

Cartier worked out of Quebec for a company called "Ceramique de Beauce", hence the "cb"

A brief history of Ceramique de Beauce can be found here,

Oooo, just made for french onion soup. My mum had a set of brown ones like that, but not sure if they were from Ceramique de beauce or not.
