yes,all handthrown pottery is of course unique but Atlantis has a shape number,this is A6 so the A is Atlantis,6 is the pebble shape then there is a / followed by 1
1 signifies the size ,1 being the smallest

no,the shape numbers were introduced to make re-ordering easy for the retailers

Ok , i 'll try a different tack , the piece you have was it handmade?, I am only trying to seperate studio pieces from moulded ( nothing against moulds at all Shoji Hamadfa did it )

there was a mix of monotony with creativity but being surrounded by dozens of pretty young girls made it a lot less boring apparently

In case anyone has forgotten,it's the Poole pottery sale at Cottees this weekend,if you can't make it to Wareham then this is the first Cottees auction where you can bid live online via
www.the-saleroom.com but it will cost 3% of hammer price as well as 15% Cottees commision + vat
