Indeedy - cheers for the info Gareth & Dan. Sadly it's got a hairline on the neck rim part but, since it's a family thing, I won't be selling it so it doesn't really matter but it does niggle me slightly! Interestingly you say the paintress was Marjorie Batt - well my grandma (it's original owner) was called Marjorie Blanchard...

her married name was Hayward but she may have re-married?

It was a common name though..perhaps because it spread so easily?

It is in the book, but in real life the ones I've seen tend to be squarer, like this

This was the first ever Traditional Poole Vase I bought. I think I tas one of my best finds and is still my favourite vase and pattern. It's shape number 205 (14cm tall) BY pattern, painted by Nellie Bishton between 1927-32.

I wish i'd seen it first

Here are my two latest. These came from Newark at the begining of the month. The vase is V ( leo the lion) pattern 10" tall and the jug TJ Pattern 4" both painted by Ruth Pavely in early to mid 1930's. Not had a chance to put them on my website yet.

yeah - I think i saw that one - I love that design too - I got one on my web site here http://www.poolepottery.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/poole_pottery_traditional_home.htm - its has a couple of cracks in it though (I don't say that on there). It's one of the few damaged pieces I've knowingly bought, but I thought it might be the only way i was going to get one.
