Yes 100% bertoncello ,I thought RR but might be a P , the thing is pip I remeber seeing a metal piece of art by a top italian designer from the 70's his piece was exactly the same as the L shaped bertoncello's is intial was RR but Iam damned if I can remeber his name , absoloutley no doubts about this as bertoncello though , all I have found out is that schiavon is a town near the city of vicenza in the veneto reigon of italy
some other pottery has been made by people with name schiavon , but that is common in Italy to named after your town .

gosh - yes that's pretty conclusive Ed. I wasn't doubting you by the way, I was just interested in how you knew it was a Bertoncello because without the other piece to compare it with I'd probably not have realised. It's great to have a signed piece in the thread now - hopefully soon we'll be able to find out a little more about this elusive pottery. We'll keep digging....

Unfortunately this one had a small knock on the rim (not visible in the pic but there nonetheless) I bought it for its decorative aspect though goodness knows I have enough other items like that as I am sure we all do!!

verrrrry interesting Ed. Nice piece as well - I'll get my Google head on later and see if I can dig anything up from those base markings, they're pretty distinctive aren't they.

yes very distinctive, and it actually has Italy on it as well as the RR ,which I have never seen before , i have never seen a company produce such diverse forms as this one , I can't believe these are copies , the green one I posted yesterday even has parts applied by hand , good luck with the search pip because I think bertoncello is one for the future Ed
