Hi,

I purchased this dragon pattern slipware jug last week. Looks like a copy of the old North Staffordshire pottery style. I can see the makers name quite clearly, I think the place name is Weymouth and part of the top name could be Pottery but not sure. I have googled without success. I wonder if someone on this super board can shed some light please.

Thanks

anyone here know about Gouda pottery? the only bit of the mark i can make out is Zuid Hol and possibly a B next to a kind of square with a line through/house. there is a small impressed 4 as well. I know there are many potteries in the area, can anyone narrow it down for me as it doesn't look much like any of the brightly coloured gouda wares i often see at antiques fairs.

It is glazed, is about 25cm wide and has a pattern of swirls going into the centre that are browny-purple, orange, cream and a little bit of light green. It's kind of shaped and has 3 little feet. It has a mark on the bottom that I cannot decipher, looks like a short word first ending in a y and then another line underneath that looks like numbers starting with a 190 (i think, so hard to read).
I bought this wall plate because it intrigued me. It looks kind of German but stylistically it could be from a number of places. It has a gold foil label on the back which reads 'Manuel Feulloch' - I suspect this may be the retailer's sticker rather than the manufacturer (obviously it's a Spanish name).

Any ideas?

Hi - I recently inherited this plate and have not a clue as to where it may have been made, how old it may be, or who manufactured it.

It is quite beautifully hand painted with wonderful colors and designs and it has a rather strange hand painted logo on the back which I can 't identify.

Maybe someone on this forum can help me?

Here is a picture of the front of the plate (which measures about 8")

And here is a closeup of the logo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi all,

bought this fab little pot today - and something about it made my little ceramics heart leap with joy when i spotted it - but i don't know who made it. Something about it said Shelley, or perhaps Crown Ducal? It's marked as MADE IN ENGLAND, with a number 40 and a cross, all impressed. It has the obvious influences of Clarice Cliff and is typical late 20s / 1930s.

can anyone id? thanks

Tropical Chintz cruet set marked Foreign, more likely 1920s than earlier, no third shaker. Marked rather than a sticker. German or Czech? I am grasping at straws here. From the look of the pepper top, I am guessing pepper rather than salt, one has holes higher up on the tip, I am thinking late 1920s, but I thought by then stickers were more probable. The lids are marked EPNS so they were aimed at the UK market more than likely. They are 2-1/4 inches tall (2-7/8" to top of lid) and ...

it's a bit hard to tell from these photos, but the top straight edges are actually gilded (or at least, lustred with a glaze). Underneath, it is marked with what looks like a stylised EC and 4/99 which i took to mean as April 1999 - it looks like the mark was done with a black marker pen and not painted. Any ideas?

20th Century Asian or Italian Green Glaze Jug Redware?

A small jug (coffee cup size), acquired from a shop in Buck's county, PA. The shopkeeper does not know where it was from. His guess is something from Italy. Do you think this is 20th century Italian piece? Green glaze, with areas of tiny pores. Creamy white body (mostly worn). The unusual aspect of this piece is the gold dusts or specks embedded throughout the red clay.

Again, thanks in advance for your help. - James

Can anyone help me ID this piece of pottery that a friend of mine has inherited please? (I'm in Nova Scotia). The elderly lady that owns it says it was given to her by an elderly gentleman who was an artist & did a lot of stained glass work in Europe (churches/cathedrals).

Apparantly he told her sister that it is very valuable! He died in 1972 aged 86ish...

Its 9.5" x 10" x 4" tall. I'm not sure if its European or American (or even asian!)

Hi, in order to get used to some of you ASAP I thought it best to open another ID topic.

This is one of my favorites, a vase with penguins, on the picture two show but they are all around, 6 of them.

At the bottom only a number. It's 24 centimeters.

Rorstrand 'Oliv' series centrepiece bowl

'Oliv' series centrepiece bowl with moulded foot. Quite impressive that they spent time decorating it to the underside, even though no one would ever see if whilst in use.

No designer marks, and Googling yields nothing useful. Anyone know the designer and/or age? I'm always out of my comfort zone when it comes to pottery and the like.

I do have another piece to ID, it probably cries out "Carstens" or "Ruscha" to you, may that be the case feel free to wait a couple off days before answering so at least it seems like a Hard Question, a Real Challenge.

This is a wall tile 40/15 centimeters, at the back there is some mark but I don't know what it means.

Hi there,

It seems I am collecting pottery all of a sudden^^

Somehow the most hideous items find there way to my house and I am actually glad if I purchased one.

I am willing and able to tell if a vase is Scheurich if it says so at the bottom preferably confirmed by an undamaged Scheurich label. So far my knowledge.

Some items I own are mysterious to me, maybe here are some people around who can tell me where it comes from, who made it and why.

This is one of them:

Cinque Ports Pottery ? range please

Hi,

Have purchased a few bits of pottery this last weekend and am trying to establish a little more. (Only pots we have are W.German). Each mug is backstamped, saucers are unmarked. Heavily crazed inside. Wondered what range they might be from (if any), and how old they might be, and any other info or ref points anyone may have.

Many thanks in advance, M & S
