Hello all.

I live in Sweden and I have, without knowing it, owned two

portmeirion tea cups with saucers for a few years and they have always been my

favourites! I bought them for on a flea market in Sweden.

Recently,

I dropped one of the cups on the floor and only after that did I look

for the brand and tried to learn more about the cups to find a new one.

I have been looking on Ebay.co.uk and on the official Portmeirion

homepage, but I haven't been able to find any information ...

I have bought a bigger home to accomodate mine and have bought several display cabinets but still the cupboards are full of wonderful treasures that rarely see the light of day.

Have you found good ways to show off your collection? I know Ed has some lovely cabinets I look forward to seeing lots more pics soon.

I have no qualms about all the very commendable research that has gone into IDing these pieces, however some things just don't add up ,

The chimney vase, the big red and black lava vase and the two handled orange vase were made by the same company , no doubts that's 100% guaranteed , so what's the problem , ? why has there never been roth labels found ...

hi all, bought all this last weekend at a carboot sale - included was a teaset for two that i fell in love with because of its quirkiness. It looks like it was inspired by limpits and molluscs etc. A google search for the pottery didn't throw up much but what it did was really cool - some highly original contemporary art from a Latvian ceramic artist called Juris Bergins.

Hello to all, my name is Eddy and me and my wife started collecting ceramics about a year ago and mainly get them from local jumblesales/ carbootsales here in the north of Holland.

This vase was bought by my wife for a few euro's and after checking several sites about BAY, I am a bit confused how the name BAY is written on the base. All site mention a Y .. but on this vase it's a curved Y. Is the letter style related to a certain age, or .???

So if any one could help with this.

A woman has taken 3 WG pots into Dickinson's Real Deal - two seriously ordinary 70s Scheurich's and one that I'm not sure of (a little nicer than the other two). But hardly anything to get excited about - the sort of stuff we don't bother buying anymore when we see it. Anyway, the dealer who admitted she knew nothing about retro WGP just gave the woman £100! She wanted £120 !!! But accepted the dealer's offer. I'd say that was a result for those nothingy vases - I think I'm going to take ...

Did get a bit silent... so thanks for info.

For the love of me I cant find the earliest pre 80s piece which was a brownish honey coloured glaze and fairly small and I am pretty sure it was incised ca mark. But cant be sure.

Here are some 80s pieces

- The fifth one is not stamped by looks at home with these. Best Susie

I know my sister also bought some as well.

I'm looking for more information about the Starfire series 2001-2003. I did a quick search and came up with the Portmeirion site and the usual "china replacements". Can anyone provide additional info about this series (design, techniques, colours) and maybe some of your own experience with this line?

Am wondering ... what about Japanese pottery? It resonates faintly with my childhood years (60s). I'm seeing quite a lot in the thrift stores, and it usually catches my eye because of the glazing or the design (usually just marked "Japan"). I recently found a cool boomerang ashtray made in Japan. Any insight from the experts would be appreciated!
