I was wondering if I might be right to call this bowl "silver"? I realise photos are not the easiest way to discern colour, but they're quite spot-on - in this instance - in terms of accuracy. It may well depend on your monitor settings, I suppose. Anyway, all help gratefully received.

Iittala bowl?

Just bought this from my local charity shop in the hope of it being

Iittala, as the bubble looks the same as some Iittala glasses I had.

The bubble has an exit hole - not enclosed.

The width is just

under 20cm with a rim of 1cm thick, and the height is 9cm. It weighs

3.5kg, which made me think it unlikely to be Marks & Spencer

because they don't do strong enough carrier bags for it!

Thanks in advance,

Stu.

I've got this bottle vase - thought it may be Scandinavian (it's nicely made and the colour is very 'Finnish') but I can't find it in any of my books :-( I don't think it's a decanter missing it's stopper because the inside of the neck is smooth and there are no scratches or marks to indicate a stopper having been there. Any ideas?

Hi, I've just acquired three Carnaby vases. Two Christer Holmgren style(one with an old sticker) and one small bulge vase by Per Lutken. I have a small amount of doubt about the bulge vase because in other pictures of these that I've seen the first indentation from the bottom looks more exaggerated than mine. All three match perfectly in terms of color(an orangey-red that's slightly lighter on the bulges) and quality. I'm wondering if there were imitations that very closely resembled the ...

Purple/white flashed vase - Bohemian?

This type of glass is way out of my comfort zone - can anyone offer a little info on it? It's a nice quality little thing and I love purple so I do really like it but would like to know, if poss, who might have made it and when. It has a load of age related wear to the base (and dirt inside as you can see from the base pic) - my guess on this would be that it dates from the first quarter of the 20th Century and is Bohemian (Moser - that kinda thing).

Hi

This is my first post, so I hope the pics upload.

I bought this vase recently, it is 208mm. high, and 150mm. in diameter at the top.

Is it Czech pressed glass, Sklo union, designed by whom?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I've had this vase quite a few years, and I'd really love to try an get some ID on it.

It's 13cm high, and weighs in at a whopping 1400g. The way it's been made is very interesting- a piece of thin white blown glass, with a yellow, orange and aubergine pattern has been broken into large pieces, which have then been embedded into thick clear glass over an opaque yellow glass core, giving the impression of them 'floating'. It has a fire-polished rim and a ground base, but the pontil is left ...

Hello! I bought this bowl at an estate sale where there were a number of high end items and would love to know who the artist is. The base is acid etched with a signature and the numbers 95, which may be a date or a design number. I've tried many variations on the signed name and the only thing I can up with is Tortu, but I'm not at all certain that that's what it reads. The bowl measures about about 8" in diameter and weighs about 3.5 lbs. Any help is most appreciated! Thank you, Annenan

First is a really interesting sculpture. It has 3 ‘arms’ and sits on a square, highly polished base (all one piece). The colors are red, green and clear and it is 11” tall. The base gives the illusion of being mirrored and it is just over 3” square. It weighs 5 pounds and I see no marks.

Second is a pretty cased green ruffled candy dish. Is this aventurine? Can ...

Hi there,

Ya know how you know something and after a while you think you still know it and then after a long time you know that you no longer know it? Well that's the case with this candle holder. I used to know this! Can anyone help in telling me what I used to know? It's 7cm tall with controlled bubbles and a flat base. Scanni, but who? Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Mr. Roboto

Hi there,

Along with my little man I found this vase. It has thick walls of glass made to look like melting ice. It has a polished pontil and the amount of good age wear to the base suggests that it's been around for some time. It's in an ovoid shape and is 17.5cm tall. Does it look familiar? Thanks!

Cheers,

Mr. Roboto

Hi,

Here I have a nice glass, which has been used pretty much exclusively for gin and tonics in my household. This glass used to be in a pair, but unfortunatly I broke the other glass. Do you know who the manufacturer is and/or where I could get a replacement?

I have tried to get the logo at the base in the photo, but it has not come out too well. It is a capital letter D, in a box, you can just make it out in the second image. The dimensions are approximately 180mm high, ...

Hi there,
Found this little chappy in a lot with some Scanni glass. Is he Scanni too? He's 20cm tall and has faint mold lines on his sides so he's not hot worked. The base is polished smooth. Pukeberg perhaps? Thanks!
Cheers,
