I love Cadovius's modular shelving, but I don't have any room to own any myself. *sigh*
Also, I'm a bit clueless when it comes to the specifics - what's the difference between the Cado System and the Royal System?

Oh, I see - I thought they were two specific variations on the same design!
So when sellers refer to a 'Cado System' by Poul Cadovius, they're just being informal with the series name?

absolutely stunning Aardewerk - like Nic I also adore this shelving system but it'd look totally out of place in our Victorian cottage. I'll just have to content myself with the thought that I can have some when I move to my 60s house (whenever that might be!)
Royal vs Cado
There is a difference between the the 'Royal' system and 'Cado' system by Cadovius.
The Royal has the metal fixings and supports which hang in the sides of the wall battens.
The Cado has wooden supports with angled wooden dowels in the back which fix into angled holes in the front of the wall battens. The joinery involved means these systems are often considered more desireable. This also means it's a nightmare to put up as there is zero tolerance. The Royal is much more forgiving and is easier to find. Hope that helps!

Re: Poul Cadovius 'Royal System' wall unit
I have a Cado wall System with the angled wooden dowels, on the reverse of one rosewood panel is a label that reads "Royal System" "Cado" so I'm not sure the above answer is correct. Sorry to add more confusion.
