Gah. Sorry, I've brain-fudge-itis today. It happens to the best of us... and to me also.

Re: Not Holmegaard - again
But if I start treating 'was' and 'were' as interchangeable, please shoot me.
Regularly hearing 'We was' and 'I were' is one of the worst things about living Oop North.

Pip wrote:'off of' gets on my nerves and everyone seems to say it!
My pet hate, it just doesn't make sense, especially when you here TV and radio presenters saying things like "...here's Mike off of Cardiff..." what!? it really gets me mad!

Re: Not Holmegaard - again
I hate people saying barter when they mean haggle + sever hundred other lazy mistakes that have sneaked into everyday usage,it drives me mad when newsreaders make these errors,if they can't speak English properly then what good are they?!

Re: Not Holmegaard - again
I don't know if the haggle/barter thing is curious to Lincolnshire. I've never heard it elsewhere.

Re: Not Holmegaard - again
It's worse here - it's always sumfink and nuffink . But this is the place where folk 'ave a baff when they bathe, walk on paffs, fink rather than think, and where the Norse god of thunder is a number between free and five.

Re: Not Holmegaard - again
Property wise you mean Dan? well yeah, Richmond is mega expensive but you know I reckon the likes of Jerry Hall and her chums would LOVE Nic's stylish ways and gorgeous glass. AND, the biggest plus for Nic I'm sure, we could meet up for brioche and skinny lattes every so often.
Re: Not Holmegaard - again
you need to sell a lot of glass to live there
