GERMAN ID QUERY

Post by big ed on Wed Dec 09, 2009 12:15 pm

Ok , what it is is this ,I have a number of pieces of west german pots , I have been trying to get a positive source for them for years without a great deal of success , some of you have seen them before , but I think I have made a link and wonder if anyone agrees or has other ideas ,if you look at the pics the small vase orange and yellow glaze has been Identified as Soendgen ( who , when, how, I don't know ) but if we accept that, then all the others must be the same , glaze , clay , inside glaze are all the same , I contacted Soendgen who did not reply , their pieces are marked SK and I have not seen a label yet either , any take a gander at the pics , I would love to clear this one up

I thought Soendgen had been discounted as a possible maker and you had another company in mind - or am I getting confused as usual?

I still think they look like that "Carstens" one I had a while ago if you rember it. I baught it on ebay when you pointed it out to me when it was listed as roth. The cylinder one with the two big round circles. The orange was very like these and the shape was a bit like this two. It was id'd as Carstens so I sold it again. Not much help realy as I'm still not 100% sure what that was either. They are very nice though and I hope sus them out in the end.

Ed

I have two of the same large lampbases and a couple of similar vases which have been id'd as Sondgen. If ever I get time I will put a pic on the board, but am pretty busy so it wont be tomorrow.
