How can you see that it is a scheurich piece?

Maybe a strang question, but I'm starting collector.
And I have a lot to learn.

Jim - have a good look through all the manufacturer's threads in our West German pottery section - in particular the Scheurich one and see if you can see another positively identified one. The way to tell who made what is by the form (shape) and the form number (the first number on the base, as Ed has already pointed out on another thread the base markings on your pot 272/38 refer to the form number 272 and the size of the pot in centimetres 38) - although to complicate matters many of the different manufacturers used the same form numbers but not for the same shaped pots.

I found the shape number in the book of Horst Makus. And it's made by Scheurich in 1959. Or is it made many times in years thereafter?

If they were in popular demand they would continue making them after that date , I wouldn't imagine a 50's style like this lasting long in the 1960's
