An eBay link to a completed auction, why did the bidding go so high?

Post by Inez Austin on Tue Aug 04, 2009 4:13 pm

I really don't know much about this Cruet-condiment set. I recognized it as part of what I would call a castor set because of the way the bottom of the bottles were made. Was it made by Henry Greener (pale green marble line c1878)?

eBay: VICTORIAN PLATED CRUET SET ON STAND COLOURED GLASS ONYX Item number:

290334359913

Thanks for looking, Inez

That looks mould blown. I understand Greener to have made pressed glass.

Yep, Greener was definitely pressed glass only, and these colours have to be European, surely.

(I'm new, and am laughing at the emoticons here).

Greener did make "marbled" glass and in green, I just can't find much info on it......I have a small set like this one in blue, just not marbled, and it is unmarked.

Whoops, sorry, I was misinformed then. Wasn't seeking to lead you down the garden path.

Not a problem, sometimes just a little info really helps. Inez
