Holmegaard

Post by dabeachiegirls on Tue Oct 20, 2009 3:47 am

To my limited knowledge Holmegaard's hooped vases were primarily the carnaby line. Yet most everywhere I go, Riihimaki, style hooped vases or "scandinavian" style hooped vases are repeated referred to as Holmegaard. Did he make a hoop vase that I haven't discovered? who's stupid here, me or them?

These are the vases generally misattributed to Holmegaard:

They were mostly made by Hirschberg, Germany.

Hi, if you read through Nic's Holmegaard Carnaby thread here on this board you'll see he's listed every single shape from the Carnaby line. Anything not shown in that thread is not Holmegaard Carnaby. Take any other attributions (especially those on eBay) with a huge sack of salt.
