RIIHIMAEN?????

Post by misty on Thu Jul 02, 2009 2:07 pm

It's very tall vase.
Someone mentioned to me a while ago it's made by Riihimaen/Riihimaki.
It has that "Riihimaen" look, but without solid ref, it's still considered to be "infant".

Not Riihimaki I'm afraid. But it's understandable why someone might think that - a lot of glass of this nature is usually wrongly attributed to Nanny Still (for Riihimaki).

Is it amberina? It's hard to tell from the photo but if it is I'd say that it's far more likely to be American production. Kanawha maybe? I'm woefully ignorant of American glass sadly because we just don't get much over here.

It looks a little crudely manufactured to me to be Blenko but what do I know!? We really need some American glass experts to yay or nay it.
