Oh they certainly do race in conditiopns like that Sue, not in this country oblviously, they call off chepstow here if there's a cloud in the sky ,

It was painted from an old black and white photgraph, by Oscar Marzaroli, (died 1988)an Italian who moved to glasgow and photographed poor areas , docks etc . this one I found in a poetry book about scotland , the colours I made up and am pleased with , thanks Dan
