Metal Tray and Coasters circa 60s, designed by Peter Kneebone

We bought this tray and coasters set because we liked the illustrations and general sixties look - fortunately it's marked with 'Peter Kneebone for Action for the Crippled Child' (the charity is now known as Action Medical Research).

Peter Kneebone (1923-1990) turns out to have been a very accomplished man with a varied and interesting career - immediately after leaving Oxford he was involved in the organisation of the Festival of Britain before turning his attention to illustration.
