Have you always named your speakers after women?

Re: Quad Electrostatic speakers
My dad has the same speakers except in black. He bought them new when we travelled to the UK in about 1974. They must not have lived up to his audiophilic expectations as he stopped using them years ago; they have been stored in his basement and are still in new condition. I like the look of them but they take up a lot of room.

I thought the sound was fantastic you really couldnt tell where it was coming from it seemed to fill the room as did the speakers the reason for not using them is usually lack off space .

Re: Quad Electrostatic speakers
I'll make a point of asking why he stopped using them. I was over at my parents' place on the weekend and noticed the speakers in the corner and was going to ask about them, but we got onto other topics.
I do remember that the process of bringing those speakers back to Canada was a very big deal. The speakers were almost overshadowed by another important item my dad was bringing back from the UK at the time - some pigeon eggs for our neighbour, who raised pigeons. The eggs were stored inside a loaf of bread (per the neighbour's detailed instructions) and elicited a few queries at Customs. I think they never hatched though.
