20 cm lampshade stand

The stylistic "three herrings mark" on base rim identifies this piece as Michael Anderson

Here is another of my blue pieces and I think quite an important piece as it has incised marks and a label. So - Michael Anderson & Sons, Nr 6306, and full incised marks including potter AB. Susan

At the risk of sounding naive ... shouldn't it be spelt Michael Andersen (the Danish way)... not Anderson?? I have turned up many more references using this spelling.

Hi Emmy - welcome to the board - you're quite right, it is Andersen with an 'e', I hadn't noticed that Narcissus (who started this thread up) had spelt it incorrectly!

Will alter it asap.

Do please introduce yourself to the board using the existing stickied thread at the top of the Lava Lounge - we'd love to hear more about you and your interests.

Welcome Emmy,
Do you have a collection of Andersen's pottery?
I'm just beginning to collect his work and would love to see some examples.

Thank you!... I was a little worried I would end up looking silly on my first post!
I have a bit of a Danish Modern obsession.. and I have let my collecting grow to a dabble in the buying and selling market as well. I have a few of Andersen's pieces.. I will upload some pictures for you shortly. I was so excited to discover this forum today, well done guys!

This is a lamp base by Michael Andersen displaying the often called "sprouting" design. The lamp has a matt glaze in green with a spray on effect.

A large - 40cm diametre - platter designed by Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen. The large silhouette of a rooster with a crackled finish in a pearly silver colour is set against a blue background.
