Well done Most Excellent

It's a very nice example of his glaze in my opinion.

Yes, it really has a depth of colour.
My friend bought one with bands of white glaze & clay. I'll try to get a photo next time I see her.

I like it , but he Tends to be a bit of a one trick pony when glazes are involved .

True to an extent Ed, but if you look close at the items he exhibits on his stand, the glaze/patterns/depth differ a lot from each other, in my opinion anyway.

Iv'e seen quite a few at exhibitions and in magazines and in the main it's the same stuff , Giant teething ring with not a lot of variation in the glaze , I think he needs to experiment a bit more .

I asked his permission to take some pictures to show us. Here's a few. I only had a crappy iphone so focus isn't as good as I'd hoped.
He does vary his glaze and clay colours (although bluey-green glaze and grey clay are his trademark), and varies his pot and sculpture shapes. - more than can be said for some potters. And his work is very original and iconic - you wouldn't pick up a Beard and mistake it for any other potter's work - which, again, is more than can be said for some potters.

My friend's Peter Beard vase, which she bought at Art In Clay. It fits with her polar bear theme.

Must admit I'm a bit of a Beard fan too. I really like the bottom vase in the list of shots above. Here is what I think is a slightly earlier piece I have.

I think this large twin handled vase is an early one. It has a different mark and less defined wax resist pattern, which I think I prefer.
