3 Footed Bulbous Blue/White Porcelain Vase

Need help identifying this vase as there are no marks. Recently bought but all our searches are turning up blanks.
The description was "Antique Victorian 1880's 3 Footed Bulbous Vase" but we didn't totally believe that description. The feet do show some age wear so it isn't brand new.
It stands 11cm tall, 9cm diam. Wondering if it is Japanese and not English ??????
We would appreciate any help.

sounds like a couple of vases i have from that period - Worcester and several others made them. Are they little round "bun" feet? alternatively, they sometime had spikey feet and the vases are usually known as cauldron vases and sometimes have little handles as well.

also, you mentioned Japanese as a possible origin? is it perhaps just an Aesthetic design that was popular in the West but inspired by Japanese design.

yes, i would happily go along with late Victorian - perhaps just a bit more in to 1890s/1900 than the 1880s, because the pie crust rim and floral sprig decoration is more towards the turn of the century. As for maker, it could be any number of Staffordshire potteries as there were many doing this type of ware.

Thanks very much. Any ideas about where I might find info to pot a pottery to the piece? Have spent hours looking at hundreds of pages on the net so far. Not really important that we do, didn't pay very much for it. Just very curious.

It might be continental. Limoges made bulbous footed porcelain vases. As it's not marked it's probably by a small factory, copying one of the larger ones like Worcester, Limoges, Serves, etc.
Again, as it's unmarked, probably Late Victorian or turn of the Century in date, before the import tariffs came in in the early 20th Century which meant everything had to be marked with the country of origin.
