Hi

I have had this for some time and just recently whilst trolling around pottery sites on line for something else I came across a cat by Richard Parkinson with very similar (imo) decoration. However further investigation has failed to bring up much else other than figarative pieces.

Sadly ( especially if it is by him !) it appears to be missing a lid and has a hairline crack !! Waaah

Height: 12cm no mark on base

I think it's highly probable. But it's the figural pieces that most people collect and so command the high prices.

Sorry about not getting back NaomiM. Thanks for your reply - I paid 50p for it 'cos I liked it despite its failings. Interesting to see it was made by a collected potter.

I find this vase far more pleasing than the figures but when has taste had anything to do with collecting.

My thoughts exactly.
Must be the reason I'm not turned on by the likes of Moorcroft and Clarice Cliff - I think a large number of ' collectors' of these are more attracted to the current hysterical prices that they achieve.

Yes there are some domestic wares by parkinson. I've had storage jars like this before,
I can't see the top, but it may have had a lid. There are cruets etc, never marked.
