Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at this pair of vases.
Both in sea green type colour with same colour applied trailing
which unusually starts on the base ?
Good size ground pontil and considerable contact wear.
slightly differing in size standing about 8 1/2" tall

My first thoughts were Powell but didnt find any to match in the online catalogues so looking for help please.

Nice, not sure I would call that "sea green" from the pix though.

A single one of these was auctioned by Denhams as Whitefriars however this does not mean that it is

There's a similar style in the Bristol Green Museum but this is a lot earlier and has the trail around the rim and rough pontil. Perhaps someone saw this and was influenced. I had thought Webb but failed to locate an example

Yeah, lot 616 looks to be Empoli glass and 620 is definitely by Krosno, Poland - but both have been sold as Whitefriars. They don't do their homework there!

Thanks for your input.. are we certain that these are not Powell then ?
I felt sure for a while that they would be, but the lack of another vote i guess puts pay to that idea... oh well back to the google thing then.
