Louis Poulsen (Denmark) Louisiana3-1

Louis Poulsen (Denmark) Louisiana1-1

'Louisiana' pendant in (very) solid brass, designed in 1960 by Vilhelm Wohlert, originally for installation in the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark.

Louis Poulsen (Denmark) Brass-poulsen1-1

'Søværnspendel', designed in the late 1950s / early 1960s by the Louis Poulsen Design Team. It is very often misattributed to Jørn Utzon, designer of the Sydney Opera House, who designed similar lamps for Nordisk Solar Compagni.

Rare 'DSB Konduktørlampe' set, showing the evolution of the design from the 1920s through to the 1950s - all designed by Wilhelm Lauritzen for use on Danish national railway trains.

The first model from the 1920s had an elegant curved fixed neck and a large bakelite switch.

By the 1930s the neck was jointed at both the base and the shade, and the design retained the chunky on/off switch.

By the 1950s the curved neck became straight, and the switch had been replaced with a smaller plastic push-button switch.
