Stoneware Pale Green Goblets x4
Hi. Need help! x4 stoneware goblets. Not that big, approx 130mm small ish goblets. No markings. They are quite nice. I think goblets will make a come back some time and the pale green colour was unusual. It's nice to have things you can use without fear of breaking them. £6 from the local junk shop. Any ideas?

Goblets like these are quite common , we see them a lot and a possible maker could be pressingoll pottery .

For some reason, I have been attracted to pottery goblets for the last few months ~ throwbacks from the 1970s. I love the variety of shapes and natural finishes. I am not collecting half-dozens of the same design, just odd ones and twos. I have ten now, eight different designs, for which I have paid pennies. Haven't found any lately though ~ I think word got out that they are destined for a "come-back"!
Has anyone else been bitten by the goblet bug? I'll show my little group if you show yours.

Well, they do make you feel a little medieval. Until we could make good glasses (1700?) it's all we had for 'quaffing' wine buy the bucket-full and I find the thicker rim makes it harder to sip from them, so you tend to gulp. *glug* *glug*.... :)
Thanks for the help all. I'm assuming that pressingoll falls into the bracket of 'touristware'.

I personally will not be drinking wine out of my goblets. I have only once drunk wine out of a pottery goblet and that was at a 1970s Medieval Banquet. My goblets are purely decorative and are on a shelf alongside other small pieces of handmade studio pottery. Nice.
