Studio Pottery Small Jar - "W" or "M" Mark.
Any ideas who made this please?
It may be my new favorite unknown pot :)

This is getting annoying. First there was dantheman's small crystalline vase; now this. How come every pot I decide not to bid on becomes someone's favourite?
I think there's a lesson here...

On both occasions the pictures did not do the item justice in my opinion.
In person this is a lot nicer than the pictures lead it to be, the lid has been potted very well and is a good fit. It's also smaller than I assumed it would be, but I take this to be a good thing :)

Re: Studio Pottery Small Jar - "W" or "M" Mark.
All I can say is that it's Stoneware that appears to have a highish iron content.
This could be from the raw materials used, added when it was being mixed on purpose or it could even have been from the potters Pugmill (I know of one potter who still uses his old slightly rusting Pugmill, in order to create these "happy accidents" with the effects the iron gives in the kiln).

I really like this pot but no ideas about the maker. Ws and Ms seem to be common marks and quite difficult to pin down
