Nigel Lambert Empty Nigel Lambert

I bought this lugged bowl from the Juliet Gould Gallery, Mevagissey, Cornwall in 1999 and have never tired of it. I use it in the kitchen all the time and it's survived a lot of ill-use virtually unscathed. It is slip-decorated earthenware, wood-fired according to his website. He was born in 1962 and his studio is in Drybrook, Gloucestershire. The bowl is unmarked which is normal. 6.2cm (height) 21.4cm (diameter).

I and a colleague showed some of Nigel's pots in an exhibition last year and besides the pots appearing to be very tough they are modestly priced and have a vitality about them.

He's also a nice bloke.

Most potters are extremely nice but there are one or two that can be difficult ............. but my lips are sealed.

Since working on his own from 1987 he hasn't marked his work.

Picked this up today. Book says his work was marked 1986-87 only. Does that seem right for this? . And is it wood fired?
