Vase made in Zambia

I purchased this today at a local boot sale, it cost very little and I rather like it but am a bit puzzled by the markings.

It is marked, by hand, ZAMBIA, with an A and then a B below, it doesn't look like African pottery so can anyone throw any light on this piece.

Probably modern studio pottery from Zambia. There are various out reach programs where UK, US, etc, potters go over and help African potters set up potteries to generate income from tourists, etc. This may be from one of those,

Interesting, thank you for that, I think I'm so used to traditional type African pottery I never considered that as a possibility.
