Generally Jim Malone's pots have 2 marks; the JM as shown and then a mark for his pottery at the time.

Many collectors love his work and his pots do seem to be have a much higher resale value than those of his contemporaries.

I have a larger charger of his in my collection but that's the only thing I've kept.

He was at Camberwell at the same time as Ewen Henderson and they remained friends. When he had an exhibition with me he would stay with Ewen overnight.

I think that they shared an obsession, trying to create their perfect pot but obviously their goals weren't the same.

This is an 32 cm Jug, which is just perfectly weighted. Personally I think he is one exceptionally fine potter. And Cheeky to the Naysayers

We did the downsizing thing. Now its when you come to that decision as what should go, and what should stay? Wellllll once you have done the umpteen trips to the charity shops, you still have to make some 50/50 decisions. This Jim Malone is probably one that should have stayed! Wah

Boot sale lucky find from a lovely lady where everything else on her table was French. I always go to her because of that but snapped this up as soon as I saw it. I didn't recognise the mark immediately  but it felt right..Jim Malone 20231012
