Eddie Thompson, Gatehouse Rodel Pottery, Isle of Harris

A lovely small porcelain bowl (one of several I have from the same artist), looks to have a Jananese influence.
Any help with the maker appreciated. The mark is not that clear on any of the pieces, though I think it probably reads as ET, or possibly EJ.

They are Dan, just very feint & not at all clear. The third one is nigh on impossible to make out anything.

Could they be the mark of Elmer Taylor?

I don’t think it’s his style. Looks fairly new

I think these might be by Eddie Thompson, Rodel, Isle of Harris. I only have in my collection a couple of heavily potted stoneware pieces by him but apparently he did also use porcelain (see this link).

Eddie is one of several "lost" Scottish potters who I'm trying to research for a possible book project. I'd be interested to see more pictures of your pots, please.

I have tried to do a little research, but absolutely nothing about this potter online that I can see, other than what is at the Long Gallery link.
It feels safe to say that his work must be fairly rare; are his pieces valuable?

We dont give valuations but as a general rule of thumb:
Well known and rare = valuable.
Well known and rarely collected or prolific = not worth much.
Not very well known and not collected = not worth much.
Unknown and may be rare = currently worth what you paid for them until it’s IDed and then see above.

I've  got two of his pots, which are the only ones I've ever seen until yours came along. So, yes, his pots are rare, but since (as far as I know) I'm the only person interested in him, there's no competition to buy them. So they would have no significant value - as Philpot says, it's all a matter of supply and demand.

If anyone is still interested in Edi Thompson of Rodel. He was a friend of my parents. I have a casserole and lidded bowls (a wedding present) made by him as well as several other bowls and plates. He taught me pottery for ten days in about 1976 when I was a student and I have a bowl with beautiful dark green glaze that he helped me make.
