Hi,
Please can anyone help & apologies if it’s on the wrong place!
I got this little decorated box. I thought it was oriental so asked a friend to put it on Facebook page to ID it. Anyway, it appears it might be English or European Art Nouveau or aesthetic.
I think it may be paper mache as it is very very light.
If someone has any ideas I’d be most grateful. Thank you

It doesn't look English, Aesthetic, or Art-Nouveau.
It looks like Japanese Laquer work possibly a tea-caddy.

Agreed, Japanese lacquerware. It may have held a set of lacquerware coasters
