Good morrow all, i trust you are well.
I thought identifying the maker of this jug would be simple, but I'm struggling to make out the lettering (which may be L W).
Can anybody please help me identify this mark?

Hi all.
Great suggestions, but eventually went for the lard and vinegar approach.
Does this image help any? Still can't find an example anywhere.
