I was wondering about country of origin and date of this piece. Not sure of wood... Could be a Teak variety or maybe Mahogany? Is it Indian 19th Century or maybe Welsh or Dutch?? Hand written on the base says 'bought in 1920 at Petticoat Lane'. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

I could be wrong but I think it’s Northern European, but also prisoners of war made them in the U.K.

I think you may be right. I thought it could be Dutch (Frisian) late 19th - early 20th Century.
