The artist and sculptor, Kenneth Martin (1905 - 1984), was a leading figure in the revival of Constructivism in the UK, alongside his wife, Mary Martin, and Victor Pasmore.

This is a hand drawn Christmas card of his that I once owned.

The card had been sent to the art critic, Paul Hodin, and his wife Pamela.

There are a couple of pieces by Martin and his wife  in the exhibition i mentioned previously, i think one was called 'chance and order' or something similar by Kenneth Martin and a white construction by his wife which bears a resemblance to Ben Nicholson's white work , i will investigate on my next visit. I think i would have been tempted to keep your postcard.

I saw a great exhibition of the Martin's work in Eastbourne of all places probably 15 or so years ago. Purely by chance too, as I had gone there to buy a very large Janet Leach vase.

I did keep the postcard for a while but I bought it to sell and the "dealer" got the better of me.

I know exactly what you mean, in my early dealing days every thing was for sale, every now and then i would hang on to an item that was fairly unique but eventually it had to go , i cant say i ever really missed things once sold. I sold a few items to major collections and that gave satisfaction to see them illustrated in books. I think i have trodden the same ground as yourself (Portobello, Bermondsey etc)and i used to visit your haunt at Alfies market .
