Buffalo head earthenware vase - Khmer, Cambodia or Thailand?

Buffalo head pot vase, African, Asian ?
Really not sure what this is.
9” long, heavy,  with sculptured detailing. Not sure if it’s painted or lightly burnished.
And has all the dirt on it been put there to make it look old?
So is it new, Asian? It was sold as African.
I do like it as an animal pot, bit puzzled tho.

Indian/Indonesian is also possible, but I've not come across another one like it.

I'm fairly certain it's from Khmer, Cambodia. I've found earthenware lime jars made in the Angkor, Khmer region in elephant, and a few buffalo, shapes, although most are on 4 legs rather than a flat base.
Thailand is also possible
