Yes. Crich. It's near Matlock (or was). The potter is Diana Worthy. The mark looks like a curly D one way up and CP for Crich Pottery the other way up.

I'm sure that Crich is still where it's always been, carolalev, even though the pottery isn't

Diana Worthy is now making wall hangings from alpaca fur in spain (malaga i think).. Hasnt picked up a pot in anger since 2004 I've been told by one of her friends. Made beautiful practical pots.

I agree about the beautiful and practical. I have some of her pieces that I have used for nearly 30 years - and more cups, bowls and other pieces that I have bought more recently. I love it!

A bee hive pot.

Bought at a local charity shop, looks a Diane Worthy production. I think it may be a egg separator or small plant pot (wouldn't drain very well). 77mm high and 100mm diameter. Any suggestions?

I would say 100% definitely Diana Worthy - Crich. But no idea what for. I'd go egg cup rather than separator if it's the right size.

Thanks for the link DD, there are indeed some unusual items from Crich. Perhaps someone could move my post over to the Diana Worthy page? The use of my item may remain a mystery, can't find another one anywhere to enlighten me. Strange no CP though. All the Crich stuff I have had has been marked. Perhaps it was a trial and never got into production?

 I like the sound of that! A coffee filter holder! Looking at the shape of it I can see it sat on top of a large mug. I was beginning to wonder if I had got only part of a functional thing, missing something that would have shown it's purpose immediately, hence unmarked. I reckon that's the best suggestion, and most likely use, so far. Well done Brand X!
