Just spotted a reference to DAS Nesbitt that might help with your search. It appears they made pieces to be used on the liners that docked in Liverpool - certainly they made pieces for the David MacIver Line. That's not to say that your piece was made to go on the ships, but it might help you track down more information about DAS Nesbitt. You might be able to find out more by tracking the registered design number 171711 through the national archives website.
