Studio Pottery Fruit Bowl????Funky Colours!!!
I bought this a few years back even though it had a hairline in the inside base from putting it down too hard in the past by someone
Its just a decorative thing now but ive used it ever since for apples etc and its been a good piece!
Well marked but ive never had any incling which country its frm would love to know it reminds me a bit of welsh studio colours but im not sure its quite a good size 10" x 4"
Thankyou again for looking at my bowl! :happy1[img]https://i.servimg.com/u/f49/16/99/17/90/john_p12.jpg[/img]1: [img]https://i.servimg.com/u/f49/16/99/17/90/john_p14.jpg[/img]

Nice bowl (again I'd have though it's Art Pottery), I don't know who made it, but it does remind me very much of Samuel Saunders Pottery, Isle of Wight. I imagine someone will know though.

Re: Studio Pottery Fruit Bowl????Funky Colours!!!
thanks but there is a lot more which should be told about her work and life....
her work was banned as degenerate art and because she was jewish her workshop was aryanized and expropriated by the nazis in 1934....
the workshop was sold to hedwig bollhagen in the same year....
it's currently the big scandal in our little pottery world....
to victoria & albert museum in london shows heymanns work from the 1920s - 30s, and the stoke on trent museum some of her later grete pottery pieces

Aryanized What a turn of phrase!!
Would you think it would be worth getting the hairline crack in the base looked at and maybe if it can be repaired!

Re: Studio Pottery Fruit Bowl????Funky Colours!!!
this particular bowl has been in an auction at w.g herr in cologne with an estimated value of 200euro...
I don't know if it has been sold though... just ask them...
look for hael werkstaetten at ebay....
in my opinion this one is a keeper....
prices are rising each year....
collectors are willing to pay a little more in the usa....
up to 1000usd for better pieces...
