Re: Teapot Gallery
Yeah, I bought one this year and one last year, I had vaguely planned on buying a "mushroom" shaped pot this year, but could not resist the teapot above
Will see next year about the mushroom!

Re: Teapot Gallery
Back in the mid 1990s I bought this teapot from a young potter, who had just graduated, named Ben Smith (at least I think that was his name). I met him at Art in Clay, Hatfield where he won the blindfold throwing competition against a number of experienced potters. When I took over the Harlequin Gallery in 1999 I wrote to him asking if he was still potting, as I wanted to show some of his work, and got a very nice letter back from his mother to say that he had gone to Australia, given up potting and was working as a lifeguard on a beach out there.
If you ever read this Ben it is about time you started making some pots again!

Re: Teapot Gallery
Don't have a teapot collection ... yet. I'm in that dangerouse position of having two, and everyone knows you need at least three of something, or better still five, or... . Mind you, these two were purchased about 25 years apart, so I'm obviously not addicted yet.
The first is by Ian Rylatt, the same shape as the one Dan has in his photos:
I bought this from the Crafts Council shop at the Royal Festival Hall as a birthday present for somebody around 1988, before I was really interested in pottery and ceramics, but it had a small imperfection on the spout so I kept it and bought another one (in a dark glaze similar to Dan's) for the birthday present.
My second teapot I purchased last year for £1.95 from a charity shop:
Not much to it; its got an Oriental stamp on the base which probably doesn't give too much away, but I like the precision of its production and diminutive size (roughly 3"x3" excluding spout and handle), together with the burnished-look finish.
