Canadian Orange Drip Glaze

I really like the vibrant orange glaze on this, intially thought it was Evangeline, but closer inspection of the stamp rules that out I think (not enough letters ). The stamp on the bottom isnt clear, I have put a tweaked picture of the base to try to make it clearer and was wondering if it rings any bells with anyone. Thanks for your thoughts

I would say that mark is Canadiana Pottery. Alfred Duby who was with Blue Mountain started his own company and that was the name. If you look on one of the many Blue Mountain fan pages you will see him mentioned. http://www.bmpcc.com/whos-who.html and also the name of his company which if you search it with "orange glaze" you will see many examples and a few pics of the intact mark. I think that's what it is mate.

btw, lucky you...I see tonnage of Blue Mountain stuff every time I am out hunting but have never seen a single piece of Canadiana even though I have known of its existence for years.

Thanks to you both, I've been trawling through Canadian pottery images trying to find an intact mark to match to, but not knowing where to go after BMP and Evangeline was making it a long winded process.

My intitial thought when I saw in on the stall was BMP then turned over and had to think again

You're quite welcome and what an amazing thing. A bit of Canadian history made it all the way to the UK to find a new home. That's really cool in my books. Here I am in Canada and I always marvel at how far some pieces travel to get here. Nice to see that some of our things went the other way too :{)=
