Ravenhead - Lancashire

Can anyone tell me the manufacturer and/or era of these vases, they measure 6 1/2in in height. Thanks in advance.

I was hoping they may be whitefriars, but I thought Id better check first. Never mind, better luck next time.

I have come across this beautiful heavy crystal bowl... it reminds me of Tapio Wirkkala's pieces for Iittala.. but I cannot find any pieces like it in my references.
It measures 21.4cm across & has matching smaller bowls... thanks to anyone who can help ID it!

I have one too. It is one absolutely gorgeous bowl. I've been wondering where it came from but not got round to checking it out. I did wonder if they could be a newer production maybe, but it's a fabulous piece of glass.
Interested to see if anyone comes up with anything on it.

Definately Ravenhead, Topaz pattern. Designed by John Clappison I think.

Sunday was the first in the spring season of car boots. Early Sundays not a favourite but the early bird catches the worm.

Picked up 3 of these glasses for a bargain 50p each (didnt even haggle which could be a first). I believe they may be whitefriars but struggling to get a confirmed identity.

Won't be selling these as they have just become my favourite G & T glasses  

Looks the same type as those tall red obolong vases, Japanese aren't they?

I was sure this vase is by Dartington but I've searched but can't find it.  Someone on here , I'm sure, will be able to identify it easily and its approximate age. Not even sure if its a vase or a candle holder - 18cm high.




Not a brilliant photo but such a distinctive form, I'm sure it's easily recognisable .

I had a quick look at Ravenhead stuff but didn't see it:sign23:  

I found a couple on Ebay stating they were Ravenhead, pattern name 'Flair', Late 70s early 80s and designed by Alexander Hardie Williamson.

 If you read through the replies the question arises as to whether its Lasisepat and if you do a Google image search up it comes !!  

I just found a Ravenhead Flair bowl this week. After the same confusion - Ravenhead, Dartington, Lasisepat? - I found an eBay seller with one and the original box was also in the listing. It has two 'layers' of petals around the edge. I started a Ravenhead thread in the British glass area.

Could you post an image of your bowl/vase please. Mine doesn't have 'two layers of petals', a single layer but in groups of three of differing heights. I'd like to compare them.

Thanks for your interest, it surprises me they are not more in demand - great shape AND vintage !! ( if it turns out they were produced in the 70s)

Although I don't have much interest in glass these days the confusion might be caused by the fact that there are a number of very similar designs around which were more than likely produced by different manufacturers.

When I saw the thumbnail above I thought that it was a design that I was familiar with but expanding it showed that it was different, although similar.
